Strengths and Opportunities in the Sector
-
Livestock is one of the few
indigenous economic opportunities which have a real potential to improve in
relatively short time the social and economic conditions of the area.
-
Improvement of fodder and
feed situation would also pave the way for commercialization of the sector and
strengthening of the livestock products based industries.
-
There is a high level of
awareness and interest about improvement of the sector in all tribes.

There is a good potential
for substantial improvement of fodder and feed.

Livestock along with
agriculture forms a major component of the subsistence economy of FATA.

Rights and benefits of
local tribes and clans over livestock and grazing grounds can be considered as
a good basis of resource sustainability.

Veterinary institutions
spanning over a wide area can be of real value with
appropriate inputs.

subsistence towards sustainable commercial livestock and poultry production
for better economic returns.
